My 6th and final trip to the alps from my time living in London and after my trip to NZ, I had to leave it pretty late in the season to get it done, the prospect of a winter with no snowboarding was too difficult to contemplate. We based ourselves in Courmayeur on the Italian […]
It’s been a pretty epic 2014, snowboarding trips to Austria (+ Liechtenstein), France and Andorra with some of the best snow I’ve had. 17 days, 4 countries, 440km boarded & 79,200m vertical drop.
Snowboarding trip number 3 for 2014 and we headed to Andorra for a snow festival called Snowboxx. The week started in Toulouse then we drove down to Andorra which is nestled in the Pyrenees mountains between Spain and France.
Snowboarding trip number two for 2014 was back to the French Alps in Val Thorens which makes up one of the Les Trois Vallées. Another catered chalet for the week was on the cards with a great crew keen to sample the French après and powder. We lucked out with close to the perfect mix of bluebird days and storms dumping fresh snow.
November & December continued on at a hectic pace, plenty of sport to finish 2013 and a trip to Paris to see the All Blacks and see some of the things I missed out on last time I visited 2 years ago.
We decided to finish off 2012 with a trip to the French Alps, and a week over Christmas at Tignes (pronounced Teen-e) sounded like an awesome idea. We were lucky enough to get great weather, great snow and an almost limitless resort to explore.
London has really come into its own now that we’ve got a bit more disposable income and can afford the odd long weekend away. Two hours on a train and voila, you’re in Paris? We’ll take that.
